The Ancient Persia ~ Modern Iran Lecture Series was created by the Iranian American Society and is a result of our mission to promote the Iranian culture and to engage in a cross-cultural, educational exchange through literary and social events. 

This Lecture Series provides a forum for experts in Iranian literature, history, cinema, art and culture to speak to American audiences and enhance Americans’ appreciation of Iran’s culture, artistry and heritage. To fulfill this mission the Iranian American Society has created the Ancient Persia ~ Modern Iran Lecture Series where accomplished professionals from across the globe come to share their experience and to educate in a variety of state-of-the-art venues throughout central Florida.

The Misconception

Iran's government has created a hostile and negative image of Iran and Iranians worldwide. American's memory of the long history and rich culture of Iran has been replaced by everyday news of all the problematic issues that the Iranian government seems to create around the globe. As Iranian Americans, we feel the urgent need and view it as our responsibility to educate our local community on the numerous contributions that Iranians have made during the twenty-five hundred years of history in literature, art, architecture, cinema, and science.
